I first met Shelly when she came to my open studio at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts back in 2011. She took my heart that day. She came again in 2012. And the third time we met, we sat for this portrait. Shelly is currently getting her Ph.D in sociology and wishes to be a professor to spread her knowledge to the youngsters in the world. She doesn’t like to talk about work when among friends. Because her friends only want to talk about her work. I know why. And I want to talk about it.
