In December 2012, I read an article on CNN about what it means to be Black in America. I saw a photograph of Sembene McFarland in that article. Once I saw her, I knew immediately that I wanted to take a photo booth portrait with this person. I looked her up on Facebook and turns out we had a mutual friend in common. After an introduction, Sembene and her friend Serron met up with me. Sembene is a truly warm and amazing human being. An ER nurse with an aura that could illuminate even the darkest of hearts. We ended up talking for hours upon our portrait day!
